Bibliotèques de  Barcelona offers four talks in which several professionals will talk, in an informative way, about the state of research in some aspects related to Down syndrome.

Coinciding with the World Day of Down syndrome, Mara Dierssen, neurobiologist, director of the Laboratory of Cellular and Systemic Neurobiology of the Genomic Regulation Center, and president of the Trisomy 21 Research Society, will offer the conference “Towards a therapy in the syndrome of Down? Reflection and future panorama “.

In it, he will discuss the current and future research areas that may allow discovering the exact neurobiological keys that lead to brain dysfunction in Down syndrome, an essential fact in order to develop possible future treatments.

On the same day, María Carmona Iragui, neurologist and researcher at the Alzheimer-Down Unit of the Santa Creu i Sant Pau Hospital, will talk about the “Alzheimer’s Disease Screening Plan for people with Down syndrome and DABNI project”
