Chakir el Homrani, Conseller de Treball, Afers Socials i Famílies and Antonio Guillén, President of the Comitè Català de Representants de Persones amb Discapacitat (Cocarmi), signed this past February 22, an agreement to promote a plan of shock to improve the insertion employment of persons with disabilities and/or mental health problems.

After the agreement, the Department will allocate 57M€ to promote the employment of people with disabilities, 42.5M€ of which for the CETS (increase in minimum interprofessional salary) and 14.5M€ more, which will be used for insertion labor in the ordinary company. Of these, specifically 5M€ will go to favor the maintenance of jobs of people with special difficulties.

The signed agreement also includes, among others, requesting the transfer of powers in relation to the regulations for the labor insertion of people with disabilities to the Generalitat de Catalunya, creating a bilateral commission COCARMI – Departament de Treball, Afers Socials i Famílies, or develop a plan of the labor inspection to fulfill the reserve of 2% of the jobs in those companies that are not covered by alternative measures.
